Overview

Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am was founded durring the late 15th century in summer of the year 1455, by Grovgez. The establishment of Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Grovgez electing to pay people to resettle in Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am.

Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of premissive packed earth streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power.

History

Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am's residents established a new industry 1 years ago, and it’s making them a great deal of profit. Old patterns of authority and wealth are being disrupted, and the old gentry are unlikely to be pleased about it. They may be trying to take over the industry, or they may have been the ones to enable it in the first place and are using it to crush the life out of any rival power bases. Outsiders might be playing a major role as well, and it could be they plot to siphon off the profits.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami spared the town a natural disaster. One of Slæ̈rn Nártaw-am's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
